Our beloved local craft shop has closed… but their spirit lives on in this new library shelving that I was able to repurpose from the shop. The plan that Nancy, the science teacher, and I are hatching is to make these shelves the center of a “maker space,” where we store materials and tools that are accessible to the children for working on their own designs and meeting challenges that we set up for them. Looking forward to attending a 3-day conference about making in June, where perhaps, I will learn how to use the school’s 3-D printer and other more techy tools….
